Responsibilities:
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications;
• Keeps work area clean;
• Programming, setting up and machining of NC blocks and various 3D machined parts. (Surface programing and machining);
• Reviewing programs to eliminate instruction errors or omissions as well as modifying existing programs to enhance efficiency in compliance with company protocols and safety regulations;
• Set up equipment for machining of complex high precision metal parts, including setting fixtures and tooling;
• Performs precision work to exacting tolerances for Tooling R&D and/or Production Engineering;
• Communicate effectively with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Development Engineering, plant personnel;
• Programs, performs setup, and runs CNC mills and lathes;
• Create and maintain multi-axis CNC programs to produce parts using CAD/CAM software;
• Assists with the development of concepts, ideas, and methods for solving milling/machining problems.
Skills:
• Ability to operate NC machines; Knowledge of machine and tooling capabilities;
• Able to interpret drawings and identify mistakes;
• Good computer skills and ability to query, monitor, and input NC machine and system data;
• Proficient with Solidworks, MasterCam, SiemensNX, Microsoft Office products;
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task;
• Able to manufacture fairly complex parts or assemblies with preliminary drawings. Able to operate more advanced test or manufacturing equipment;
• Ability to perform own set ups - and experience to run the programs which have been created on the applicable CNC machines to produce production parts;
• Knowledgeable in tool & Parameter selection as per the material;
• Good computer skills and ability to query, monitor, and input machine and system data;
