The Cabin Steward or Stewardess is responsible for the daily cleaning, tidiness, and hygienic maintenance of assigned passenger cabins. Their duties involve making beds, replacing towels, replenishing amenities, and ensuring the cabin is presented perfectly twice a day. They often build a direct rapport with guests, handling specific requests and ensuring the highest level of comfort and personalized service within the guest's private living space.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleans daily assigned guest suites/bathrooms/verandas to the highest possible level. 
• Replenishes suites with amenities, linens and supplies according to Blueseas Cruise standards.
• Maintains area cleanliness in hallways, bulkheads, overheads, vents, ledges, and back of house areas. 
• Follows up on guest special requests and guest preferences. 
• Sets up suites as per Housekeeping service standards. 
• Assists the butler with packing and unpacking if required. 
• Assists the butler with the shoe polishing service as needed.
• Assists the butler with valet service as needed. 
• Provides turn down service in assigned suites, including any collaterals for the suites. 
• Follows up on special daily duty assignments. 
• Adheres to departmental standards, specifications and work routings.
• Maintains Housekeeping lockers cleanliness and organization, complying with Public Health standards. 
• Complete the entire cleaning and restocking of a suite before proceeding to the next. Working as a team with the butler to deliver the highest possible service. 
• Carries out embarkation and disembarkation duties. 
• Provides luggage handling services. 
• On a rotational basis carries out room service duties. 
• Strictly follows the Outbreak Response regulations. 
• Assists with regular inventories of Housekeeping department equipment. 
• Cleans and maintains area and equipment according to Public Health standards.
• Properly and carefully uses ship equipment and truthfully reports faulty or broken equipment. Monitors repair progress with supervisor until repaired. 
• Strives to minimize breakage and wastage and follows proper procedures when disposing of garbage. 
• Displays cost and quality awareness. 
• Assists managers and supervisors with the training and induction of new personnel. 
• Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving relevant people as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor. 
• Attends all training sessions with the aim to further improve his/her level of performance. 
• Displays a thorough knowledge of the ships daily activities to be able to advise the guests. 
• Confidently and professionally engages with guests, using the guest names at all times. 
• Adherence to the Company’s code of conduct at all times. 
• Assists guests with their general requests/needs in an efficient and prompt manner. 
• Practices preventative maintenance. 
• Keeps the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance.
• Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures set forth by the Company, is accountable for such practices. 
• Incorporates Company service standards, personalized service and sincere hospitality by creating positive experiences for guests, efficiently engaging with guests and anticipating guest needs. 
• Practices good people management, maintaining proper conduct with all departments around the ship. 
• Observes and enforces uniform and grooming standards according to Company policies. 
• All other duties as assigned. 

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position at an establishment. 
• Knowledge of Public Health policies and procedures. 
• Physically and medically fit. 
• Moral integrity is required.
