Experienced Fisherman (UK Visa Sponsorship)

Although the candidates will need to be experienced, training will be provided to get them up to speed with their ways of working.

Salary: £26,600 per annum - paid weekly

Shift Pattern: Various shifts are available

The main duties:

• To follow the instructions of the master of the vessel
• To be able to operate the appropriate fishing gear on the vessel safely and be physically able to handle fishing equipment
• Ensure the safety of the crew members and understand health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure yourself and all personnel abide by the health and safety regulations at all times
• Operating fishing vessel(s) and maintain fishing equipment
• Set and haul nets, pots and traps
• Sort and store catches and to ensure any fish or shellfish that is outside of MLS requirements is returned to sea
• Inspecting equipment to ensure that it is in good working condition
• Preparing bait to use during fishing trips
• If required to maintain logs of the catch and other activities related to fishing operations
• Observing weather conditions such as wind speed and direction to determine optimal fishing times
• Clean and maintain equipment and fishing gear
