Job Requirements for SDO Engineer (Budgeting and Cost Control Specialist)
General Requirements:
1. Work Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in budgeting, cost control, or related roles in construction or project management.
• Proven expertise in preparing and managing budgets for construction projects.
• Experience working with physical volumes (BOQ) and detailed cost estimation.
2. Education:
• Higher education in construction, engineering, or economics.
3. Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of cost estimation processes and budgeting in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of tendering and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and cost control principles.
• Proficiency in working with BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and related documentation.
• Understanding of project documentation and its integration into budgetary processes.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and budgeting software; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
Proficiency in English is mandatory.
4. Skills:
• Preparing detailed estimates based on physical volumes from PTO.
• Budget planning for construction materials and works.
• Updating and adjusting budgets based on project changes.
• Reconciling actual costs with financial plans and preparing detailed reports.
• Collaborating with financial departments for expense tracking and control.
• Strong analytical skills for cost analysis and forecasting.
• Effective communication for coordinating with various departments (PTO, finance, procurement).
5. Personal Qualities:
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
• Team-oriented and flexible in adapting to dynamic project needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparing cost estimates based on physical volumes provided by PTO.
2. Developing and maintaining the project’s construction budget.
3. Coordinating with procurement and logistics teams to ensure budget alignment.
4. Monitoring actual costs versus planned budgets and identifying discrepancies.
5. Updating budgets and estimates to reflect project changes.
6. Generating detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders.
7. Supporting tender processes and supplier selection by analyzing financial proposals.
Work Conditions:
1. Full-time position with work based in the office and/or construction site.
2. Work Schedule: 6 days a week (6/7 schedule).
3. Salary: Competitive, starting from $1,500 USD, depending on experience.
