Logistics UK is one of the UK’s largest trade associations and represents the transport interests of companies moving goods by road, rail, sea and air. Boasting a rich heritage, Logistics UK can trace its origins back to 1889 and and during 2014 celebrated 125 years as the voice of the freight and logistics sector. The association has been supporting the interests of the transport industry since it was originated. Logistics UK members operate more than 200,000 goods vehicles – almost half the UK fleet. In addition, our members deliver over 90 per cent of freight moved by rail; and 70 per cent of UK visible exports by sea and air. Additionally, Logistics UK manages the Logistics Carbon Reduction Scheme, a voluntary initiative to record, report and reduce carbon emissions from freight transport. The LCRS’s Annual Awards celebrate the individual efforts of members to reduce carbon emissions. 2014 winners’ included DHL Supply Chain, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Turners (Soham) Ltd.
